Open Inclusion, a disability and age-inclusive research agency based in London and operating globally is looking for a qualitative researcher (ideally with some quant experience) to support our team designing, conducting and delivering market and consumer insights. We provide broader perspectives and insights that inform better solutions for commercial, government and third sector / social organisations.
This role is for a socially-oriented researcher who can work confidently in a leading inclusive research agency. We deliver high-quality insights using specifically inclusive approaches to ensure that we effectively engage, listen to and understand perspectives that are often under-considered in mainstream research, design and innovation.
We have fabulous senior researchers to share skills and build disability-specific research competence. We expect that the candidate would have a sufficient background in qualitative research practices to “hit the ground running” and likely be at a point in their careers where they are looking for the next growth opportunity. They will be learning from and supporting the senior team to deliver accurate, efficient and practical disability and age-informed insights from focus groups, interviews, diary studies, co-creation and other participatory research and design approaches.
Job Responsibilities
- Crafting research protocols, interview discussion guides and research materials
- Developing clear documentation for participants from Expressions of Interest to pre-research information, thanks you’s and what next after research sessions, engaging with participants throughout the research process
- Facilitating sessions or supporting a facilitator by observing and notetaking
- Synthesising findings, aligning quotes or behaviours to themes or code frames
- Working with others in the project team to collaboratively develop deliverables or present them to clients
- Supporting community development and recruitment from our proprietary disability and age-informed insight community
Qualifications, skills and attitude
- Background in qualitative (and ideally quantitative) research methodologies with + 3 years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated practical, high-quality communications and research engagement skills. Communication that is clear, considerate and inclusive, whether written or verbal.
- Ability to synthesise rich, qualitative information and differentiated, sometimes contradictory perspectives
- Passion for creating and delivering great evidence that drives positive change
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g. psychology, sociology, HCI, human factors, design, business)
- Right to live and work in the UK. We require all researchers to be DBS checked also given the nature of our work.
We offer a competitive salary, a fabulous purpose-oriented team and a collaborative, flexible and supportive work environment (hybrid but predominantly remote). As an inclusive research and community organisation, we offer all candidates equitable recruitment, onboarding, accessible tools and fair opportunities to join and progress in the organisation.
Please apply to careers@openinclusion.com by 13th September 2024.
