Salary: £39,390 (National Framework) or £44,792 per annum (London Framework – if you are London office-based or home-based and live within the boundary of the M25) – There is also an additional homeworking allowance of £553 per annum for those working from home.
Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week
Contract: 12 Month Fixed Term or Secondment Opportunity

What you will bring…
- To be considered as a Research & Evaluation Advisor, you will need:
- Experience of managing and undertaking research or evaluation projects
- Experience of undertaking research using a range of quantitative and qualitative methods
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, including the ability to challenge complex data
- The ability to translate data and information into an accessible format
- A good understanding of professional, legal, and ethical standards for research and evaluation
- Excellent report-writing skills
What you’ll be doing
As a Research & Evaluation Advisor, you will lead the design and delivery of research and evaluation projects as part of our research programme. Engaging with a variety of internal colleagues and external stakeholders, you will identify evidence gaps and design research projects that add value, ensuring the publication of high-quality and impactful evidence. You’ll support priority and complex strategic evaluation projects and lead the development of strategic evaluation monitoring surveys, managing risks and implementing mitigating actions.
Additionally, you will:
- Support procurement processes to support your research
- Provide advice and guidance to colleagues across CQC
- Lead capability building within the Research and Evaluation Network
- Develop and maintain research and evaluation guidance and tools
