HRA Global is a premier tier international Market Research, Strategy and Commercial Consulting business that specialises in the global food, drink and agriculture space. We are a proudly independent medium sized specialist consulting boutique with an excellent reputation in our specialisms. We are in our 12th year and our HQ is in Babbacombe, South Devon with offices close to the beach.

We work up and down the value chain; from retail and foodservice to food manufacturers and processors through to agricultural producers and inputs. We have a wealth of wealth of food and drink expertise and work with leading clients around the world.

We are in an alliance with the Context Network, the pre-eminent US Agricultural Strategy and Management consulting firm and together we work on joint international projects as part of a 370 strong team.

As an established BCORP we emphasise people and cultural aspects of our team which has stood as a strong foundation for the exceptional progress and growth we have seen in our business. We work in the office Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with other days WFH.

Job purpose:

This is effectively a new number two position in the business managing the day-to-day operations of a combined full-service consultancy and market research agency, specifically leading the reshaping and strengthening of our operation in light of our strong growth.

This is an opportunity for the right person to spend 3-6 months working with the HRA team to build on existing processes and working practice, bringing an external perspective and skillset to support us in our fast growth trajectory.

Whilst the focus is on structure, process and strengthening the operation, there will be projects to work on in addition, so this role is not a full ‘back of house’ position.

This role could suit someone returning post maternity, someone looking to relocate to Devon or someone from a larger consultancy looking to gain a significant step up in responsibility. After the initial contract completes, there may be further/a permanent opportunity depending on the results delivered and the structure agreed.

Characteristics:

You will have:

  • A desire to be working in a fast-paced environment, with a small and talented team that, after ten years, often feels like a start-up as new opportunities to use existing specialisms arise and are brought to reality.
  • A positive, optimistic attitude, able to flex to suit the ever-changing demands of this dynamic and resourceful agency.

Key responsibilities:

Working side by side with the founder and senior management team you will be:

  • Taking the lead in ensuring projects are well-managed, kept on track and within budget, with client satisfaction always front of mind.
  • Supporting the existing team with client-facing market research and consultancy work including being involved with delivery where appropriate.
  • Identifying and monitoring operations performance and tracking KPIs.
  • Developing, embedding and enhancing effective agency operational systems, metrics, and processes through data.
  • Developing the existing team procedures to build a process-led organisation which is less reliant on the key individuals than at present.
  • Ensuring effective performance management and retention.
  • Supporting client-onboarding to ensure all relevant information is shared in a timely and useful manner.
  • Making this particular role redundant, and exploring alternative structures for the business as it continues to grow.

Other requirements:

  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • At least 3+ years experience in Operations executive/ leadership positions
  • At least 2+ years experience in a Market Research Agency or Management Consultancy setting
  • Experience with operational experience in a fast-paced, high-volume client service-led work environment.
  • Must be comfortable dealing with issues ranging from the operational level through to executive strategy.
  • Experience dealing with client services: project management.
  • Data driven (uses current info / data to improve systems/processes in the business for growth)
  • Comfortable and experienced in being part of overall business growth strategy.

The salary equivalent for this role will be commensurate with the skills and experience of the right applicant.

No agencies please at this time - we have tried this route already.
