They use a combination of social and data science to give their clients a foundational understanding of the world, their customers and their organisations. The data science team do this by interrogating client data (big data), survey and social data to enable them to garner rich insights that clients can implement to help grow their offers and business. 

The Role

To be successful in this role you will have a very good understanding of data science methods and tools, and ideally you will be experienced in working with big data and survey data. You’ll use your experience to date, to problem solve and ensure the best combination of tools and solutions are used for each project. You’ll have exceptional data analysis skills and the ability to apply multiple types of data science methods. Experience of coding in either R or Python and knowledge of SQL are essential and you will also have excellent knowledge of statistics (hypothesis testing, max diff, regression analysis, ANOVA, etc) as well.

All of above are the tools and methods used that enables them to advise and consult with clients; therefore you will ideally have experience of uncovering the meaning from the data. However, this is a company that prides itself on developing people so if you don’t feel your current role allows for you to be truly consultative but you have the technical skills then this is the place where you can build and develop those abilities.
