Research Manager positions in an established and thriving research and evaluation agency

Job title: Research Manager

Salary: up to £40k plus 6% employer pension contributions

Additional benefits after one year: life assurance and share of profits

Chrysalis Research is an agency of seven researchers looking to expand. Since our inception in 2010, our research and evaluation has been helping clients create, and demonstrate, social impact balanced with broader organisational and commercial goals. Our work encompasses formal and informal learning, public health and the environment. Our clients include public and not for profit organisations (including AQA, City & Guilds the Met Office and the Gatsby Foundation), as well as corporates (including BT, Sky and Virgin Media O2).

We have a collaborative approach to working with clients and build strong client relationships through a commitment to quality research, passion for and expertise in the areas we work in.

We are looking for two Research Managers who reflect these values to join our busy team. The ideal candidates will have more than five years’ experience undertaking social research or evaluation and solid experience of managing projects and using a range of qualitative and quantitative techniques.

You would be responsible for undertaking all aspects of research; from designing methodology, to setting up, managing and delivering projects. You will have the ability to manage suppliers, and be able to communicate research findings clearly and concisely in writing and in person.

You will have experience or a demonstrable interest in one or more of the sectors we work in, such as education, health and well-being, CSR or the environment, . You will manage your own workload and have experience of client liaison or managing complex stakeholder relationships.

Our researchers work from home or in shared office space. We also promote flexible working so our researchers are better able to maintain work life balance. We would expect you to be able to travel for research fieldwork around the UK and for client meetings, which are often in London.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing research and evaluation projects, delivering to time and budget
  • Moderating focus groups, workshops, depth interviews and observations, using a range of face-to-face, telephone and online methods.
  • Developing evaluation measures, exploratory research questions, developing and testing new concepts
  • Collecting, analysing and interpreting both qualitative and/or quantitative data
  • Working directly with clients, attending meetings and providing project updates and progress
  • Writing reports and preparing presentations for clients
  • Preparing proposals for research contracts and receiving instructions and project briefs from clients.

Please send your CV and covering email to info@chrysalisresearch.co.uk by 31st July. Please also use this email address for any informal enquiries.

Any details you send us are used strictly for the purposes of recruitment and will not be passed to any third party. If your application is not successful, we will ask for consent to keep your CV and contact details securely on file. If you consent we will retain your details for a maximum of three years. We will not share your personal details with anyone outside the company. Please see our privacy notice for full details.
