Fieldwork and office management role
Folk Research is a market research agency that provides qualitative research solutions to a range of clients, including the BBC, Arla, Sky, Tesco Bank and Channel 4.
Our job is to understand consumers and get insights into what makes them tick. We conduct interviews, focus groups, ethnography and cultural scoping to really get beneath the surface.
We are looking for a bright and motivated Fieldwork & Office Manager to assist researchers by taking an active role in fieldwork management, help with the running of online communities and manage the smooth running of the organisation.
The role will involve a flexible mix of home and office working; we are based in Central London.
The role could be anything from 3-5 days a week depending on the individual.
Fieldwork management responsibilities
Daily interaction with external partners (including recruiters, venues and fieldwork agencies) from project set up to completion
Actioning fieldwork queries to help create effective solutions for a range of projects
Writing fieldwork screeners and schedules
Managing respondent attendance at focus groups, depth interviews and online communities
Negotiating and monitoring costs, budget and time line management
Contributing to meetings and ensuring relevant stakeholders are aware of processes
Leading the weekly status meeting and updating the ongoing project list
Checking and collecting invoices and gathering feedback on suppliers
Ensuring researchers have the necessary fieldwork material (respondent incentives, schedule, discussion guides, recording material)
Keeping project materials up to date including version control and archiving
Ensuring all personal data is deleted at the end of each project
Community management responsibilities
Helping our researchers co-ordinate and run online communities
Setting up respondents on the community
Keeping respondents motivated to participate
Office management responsibilities
Administering our office subscriptions, usernames and passwords
First point of call for GDPR enquiries
Organising company away days, Christmas party and staff birthdays
Finance
Managing customer & supplier invoices
Maintaining incentives records
Working with Accounts to reconcile company expenses
What type of candidate are we looking for:
Educated to degree level or equivalent.
PERSONAL QUALITIES:
Problem-solving skills - able to work on own initiative and anticipate future developments.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff in a clear, convincing and organised manner.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERTISE:
Good organisational skills.
Great attention to detail.
Good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SPSS.
EXPERIENCE:
Ideally, we are looking for someone who has worked in field management in a research agency or similar organisation, and has experience in writing screeners and liaising with recruiters. However we are open to candidates with no field management experience – they must be extremely organised and show excellent attention to detail, as well as having experience managing projects from beginning to end.
