Activity Alliance is extremely proud of its work so far in building an extensive portfolio of insight on disabled people in sport and activity. The research team has seen the response and need for its expertise grow dramatically.

It is an exciting time for the national charity, including implementing a new strategy. In collaboration, the ambition is to close the fairness gap between disabled and non-disabled people’s activity levels in the next generation. Activity Alliance’s goals are to embed inclusive practice and change attitudes towards disabled people in sport and activity. 

The Senior Research and Insight Advisor plays a crucial role in helping to address the behaviour change required to make our vision a reality. The charity is looking to appoint an exceptional person to develop this work as part of the research and insight team. 

This is a key role that involves creative thinking and strategic planning with internal and external stakeholders. Alongside another Senior Research and Insight Advisor, you will act as an expert resource for our teams and key partners. Your work will maintain and present evidence that relates to disabled people’s lives, their motivations, and the barriers to being active. Then, find accessible, innovative ways to present findings to a range of audiences. 

You will be able to demonstrate that you have the professional skills, experience, and ability to work closely with a range of people. You will be skilled in conducting and analysing research. An excellent communicator, you understand the importance of how to reach and influence key audiences inclusively. 

You will have a relevant degree level and/or professional qualifications and significant experience in a research role. 

You will be part of the dynamic and innovative Activity Alliance team responsible for growing the charity’s impact. Combined with your professional ability, you will have the drive and enthusiasm to strengthen the organisation. You will champion disabled people’s inclusion in sport and activity.

Additional information

The charity has two office locations. Trafford House in Manchester and SportPark in Loughborough. Remote working will also be considered for this role. 

We offer 26.5 days of annual leave, including Birthday leave and a half-day leave for Christmas Eve, plus bank holidays. Other benefits include pension contributions, childcare vouchers, cycle to work scheme.
