Keen to be part of a friendly team that genuinely cares about its people ?

Then this could be the role for you !

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced senior researcher to lead some of our key accounts at Sensory Dimensions. The company is growing rapidly with a strong pipeline of interesting and varied research projects needing high quality sensory and consumer expertise.

About Sensory Dimensions

Sensory Dimensions is a long established, privately owned and financially secure agency with in-house sensory and consumer research facilities based in Reading and Nottingham. We have a growing portfolio of contracts and adhoc projects with the world’s most famous FMCG and Retail brands. We also invest in developing new and innovative techniques and technologies.

We work with our clients to develop, improve and optimise their products and packaging enabling them to achieve maximum success in the marketplace.  We do this by combining traditional and innovative techniques including: sensory evaluations by trained panels, quantitative consumer product evaluation, qualitative “Product Labs”, implicit approaches and voice enabled technology.   All our research is under-pinned by best-in-class fieldwork, study design, data analyses, insight generation and engaging communication to clients. We are ambitious and have the highest standards of professionalism and quality to ensure we keep our clients happy and make them successful.

The role

You will be working alongside some of our key FMCG clients to advise on the best research solutions to meet their business needs and help them present and disseminate the insights and recommendations from research to their stakeholders.  Many of these projects will be multi-phase and multi-disciplinary. You will manage several major accounts and be the lead contact for ad-hoc sensory research.  The role will require research design, proposal writing and study management, through to data analyses and presentation of insights and recommendations to the client.

In addition, you will mentor junior staff in research techniques and commercial awareness and also play a key role in developing new sensory services and ways of working at Sensory Dimensions.

This role will ideally be based in Reading but we will flex for the right candidate. We have a hybrid home-office working model.

Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of sensory evaluation methods and their role in supporting product development and optimisation.
  • Demonstrable experience of the application of these sensory research methods for NPD including combining sensory findings with consumer research to gain insight and model outcomes.
  • Proven skills in conducting and interpreting quantitative consumer research
  • Ideally FMCG experience – our client base is mainly food, drink, household and personal care.
  • Enthusiastic and ambitious team player who is also able to work independently.
  • Excellent report writer, presenter and story-teller.
  • Agency or client-side backgrounds equally welcome.

Salary & Benefits

We are happy to discuss salary and benefits with our applicants to make sure that you are properly incentivised to join our team and be satisfied that your expertise is rewarded fully. In addition to salary, we provide a package of benefits including a health cash plan, flexible working hours and 25 days holiday.
