Are you interested in working for a world-leading research centre? We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Grant Writer to join the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre.

As the Assistant Grant Writer, you will lead on project managing and writing small scale grant applications for the AMRC (<£400,000) and will support senior grant writers with the submission of large scale grant applications where required.

You will be someone who has worked independently in a pre-award administration role and who intends to pursue a career in grant writing and research management.

You will:

  • Hold a good honours degree (or have equivalent experience)
  • Have experience of project managing the submission of funding proposals
  • A good knowledge of research sponsor requirements
  • Experience of supporting and advising on collaborative projects in an academic, commercial, public or third sector environment

About the Team:

You will be part of a busy grant-writing team that develops funding applications for the AMRC. On a daily basis, we disseminate information on funding opportunities to staff, develop and write grant applications, carry out due diligence, submit applications and manage existing grants. We also work closely with other departments within the University of Sheffield such as Research Services to manage JeS submissions, contract negotiations and consortium agreements.

All appointments will be made on the merit of skills and experience relative to the role.
