Do you want to play a role in making London safer through the generation and effective use of research and analysis? An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the MOPAC Evidence & Insight team.

We are seeking to appoint a Research Analysts on a 12-month contract. This is an important role within the team that focus upon the conduction and wider support across a variety of quantitative and qualitative research methods.

The Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) is the organisation through which the Mayor of London exercises his role as the Police and Crime Commissioner for London and is led by the Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime. MOPAC undertakes a broad range of statutory duties and works closely with the Mayor of London, Deputy Mayor and Metropolitan Police Service to deliver the priorities that will create safer London communities.

Working within MOPAC - Evidence & Insight is the dedicated in-house social research team consisting of experienced analysts and researchers conducting analytics into crime, criminal justice and policing for London.

Key responsibilities would include contributing analytically across a variety of quantitative and qualitative research methods, in particular; supporting evaluation, data analytics and surveys.

Political Restriction

Political Restriction; under the Local Government and Housing Act 1989 (as amended by the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011) all members of staff of MOPAC will be politically restricted without the right to apply for an exemption. 

Security Vetting Clearance

You will be expected to undergo the necessary security vetting which may take around 8 weeks to be completed. Applicants will also need to have resided in the UK continuously for at least the last three years.

Where are we based? 

The team is currently based at City Hall (SE1 2AA) but we are currently working from home in the main, however this may change over the coming months. The Mayor has announced that City Hall will be relocating from More London (London Bridge) to the Crystal Building in the Royal Docks. It is likely that most of the post will be based at Union Street (near London Bridge) and/or at The Crystal Building (from January 2022).
