Head of Analysis/Insights (Energy & Climate Change) - Leading Think Tank

As Head of Analysis you'll play a pivotal insights led role for this non-profit think-tank which supports informed debate on energy and climate change issues in the UK.

The thrust of this Head of Analysis role is to oversee all aspects of the organisation's domestic work, including analysis of the key parts of the UK’s net zero transition and the effective communication of that analysis to a broad range of stakeholders including journalists, parliamentarians, business and civil society organisations. As such you'll offer strategic oversight and day-to-day management of the organisation's work programme, cover analysis and report writing using quantitative and qualitative data, put together blogs, articles, briefing notes and commentary on all aspects of the UK’s net zero transition, and become a trusted and objective source to explain developments and analysis on UK decarbonisation to the media; with more activity besides.

Alongside a strong analytical background including high levels of familiarity with government and other data sets, and the ability able to quickly analyse data and use it to tell a story, as Head of Analysis it's imperative you have strong understanding of the key challenges and opportunities associated with the UK’s transition to net zero, a nuanced appreciation of the wider political and economic context within which net zero sits, and significant experience working in UK energy and climate policy and/or the political landscape. Additional skills related to leading programmes/teams, and strong communication/networking (especially within the UK media) are hugely beneficial too.
