A bit about Marketing, Recruitment and External Relations…

In the Directorate of Marketing, Recruitment and External Relations, we are responsible for the core range of activities that promote and engage with our external environment and stakeholders. This includes both prospective and current students, businesses and our local community. Made up of Marketing and Communications, Student Recruitment and Outreach and External Relations teams, we work together to plan and deliver key activities that support the University’s ambitions for growth, diversity and an increased profile.

The Insight Team is a busy team sitting within Marketing and Recruitment. The primary purpose of the team is to provide data and evidence to support the decisions that we make as both a directorate and a University. Key to this is putting the voice of the applicant at the heart of everything we do and working in partnership with a wide range of people across the University to ensure these messages are heard.

So, what do we want?

Are you interested in human behaviour and understanding why people do the things they do, and make the decisions they make? Do you have a passion for data and using it to help businesses make evidence-based decisions? Do you want to help shape the experience for future Salford students?

If the answer to one or any of these questions is ‘yes’, then we want to hear from you.

We are looking for an experienced Insight professional to provide maternity cover for the Market Insight Manager role in the Market Insight team that sits within the Marketing, Recruitment and External Relations Directorate. You would be responsible for managing the Insight team, that is responsible for ensuring that the decisions we make as a Directorate are evidenced based, while supporting colleagues across a wide range of areas; from new programme development, to marketing campaigns, to recruitment events.

The Market Insight Manager role will include, but not be limited to:

• Manager two dedicated Market Insight Officers
• Providing integrated, actionable market intelligence data to support decision making across the university
• Developing and progressing colleagues’ understanding of higher education marketing trends across professional service areas and academic schools
• Guiding existing and future course portfolio development, along with marketing and student recruitment strategy

You should be comfortable with Excel, possess excellent attention to detail, and strong writing skills. Line management experience is also preferable.

Some flexibility of hours may be required to support with weekend recruitment events and evening fieldwork.

Interested? Apply now, or email MSR-Market-Insight@salford.ac.uk if you have any questions.

We understand the importance of ensuring that our people represent the diverse student body that we serve and welcome applications from all backgrounds.

Please note this vacancy closes at 11:59pm on the date above.
