The Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) is the organisation through which the Mayor of London exercises his role as the Police and Crime Commissioner for London and is led by the Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime. MOPAC undertakes a broad range of statutory duties and works closely with the Mayor of London, Deputy Mayor and Metropolitan Police Service to deliver the priorities that will create safer London communities.

We are seeking to appoint a permanent Research Analyst to work within Evidence & Insight at MOPAC. This is the dedicated in-house analysis and social research team consisting of experienced analysts and social researchers conducting research into crime, criminal justice and policing for London.

This link will take you to the website that houses the variety of performance products and other research published by the team.

Research and analytical skills are essential, and you will be expected to have experience of both qualitative and quantitative research and analysis methods. You will primarily support the team in the analysis and research of performance insights with opportunities to work on other research and analysis projects.

Political Restriction

Political Restriction; under the Local Government and Housing Act 1989 (as amended by the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011) all members of staff of MOPAC will be politically restricted without the right to apply for an exemption.

Security Vetting Clearance

You will be expected to undergo the necessary security vetting which may take around 8 weeks to be completed. Applicants will also need to have resided in the UK continuously for at least the last three years.
