The Role
Consultant/Senior Consultant – Research, Insights & Consulting | London
As Consultant/Senior Consultant, you’ll play a hands-on role in the delivery of high-quality research projects, applying your knowledge, expertise and analytical skills to support clients in better decision-making.
Working across multiple projects simultaneously while reporting to the Project Leads, your core day-to-day responsibilities will involve:
- Supporting initial discussions with clients and prospects about their requirements;
- Making provisional recommendations on a variety of techniques for projects;
- Creating quantitative questionnaires and qualitative discussion guides;
- Working closely with our internal Operations teams, briefing on fieldwork requirements;
- Monitoring fieldwork and keeping clients fully updated on progress at all times;
- Briefing external suppliers and managing the project lifecycle and costs;
- Conducting qualitative fieldwork (e.g. in-depth interviews, focus groups);
- Planning and managing your time on projects, avoiding overrun where possible;
- Coordinating and coaching junior team members, ensuring effective use of resources;
- Analysing quantitative and qualitative data to identify trends and pertinent points;
- Drafting reports and presentations, including extracting recommendations from the research findings; and being actively involved in presentations to clients;
- Taking an active interest in client sector news and trends to support insight development and sharing knowledge with the wider team;
About You
This pivotal, client-facing position is best suited to an experienced researcher who is passionate about helping clients make better decisions. You should have a hunger for knowledge; a curiosity for client’s businesses and how they operate. The ideal candidate should demonstrate:
- At least 18 months’ to the beginning of Demonstrable experience in market research or a comparable industry with highly transferrable skills
- Fluency and comfort with both qualitative and quantitative data;
- A track record of analysing data to extract pertinent insights;
- Experience of building successful working relationships with clients;
- Exceptional communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills;
- Strong work ethic with a self-motivated mindset and drive to reach goals;
- Ability to foresee potential challenges in projects and proactively tackle them;
- Detail-oriented, eager to learn and develop and challenge the status quo;
- Self-motivation, flexibility and an independent mind but also able to work in a team;
- Ability to juggle multiple responsibilities and prioritise or delegate appropriately;
In addition, it would be beneficial (but not essential) to demonstrate:
- Fluency and comfort running quantitative and qualitative ad-hoc research and tracking studies;
- Proficiency in Excel with advanced formulas and features, such as pivot tables;
- Proficiency in data analysis (using SPSS, Askia or equivalent) and a good understanding of a variety of statistical techniques;
