Job Details

We are working with a mid-sized independent research agency that specialises in socially-conscious research. They are strategic counsel for the likes of Macmillan Cancer Support, McDonalds, the NHS, the BBC, Home Office, Human Rights Watch and many more organisations that operate on an international scale. They are looking to add a Research Director to their senior leadership team. A Research Director here ensures that whatever they do has a clear story, point of view and implications for the clients.

In this role, you will be finding your own ways to build your network and relationships, whether through sector specialism, own profile, growing existing clients or a combination of thereof. You will lead in proposal writing and be responsible for the overall delivery of projects, including fieldwork.

Internally, they are the crux of the operation. Having strong oversight over the development target of your team as well as mentoring and supporting mid-level researchers.

They are seen as 'Generalist Specialists' and encourage their researchers to build and work on areas that truly interest them. But alongside this, they will expose you to a diverse number of projects which covers a huge spectrum of social research, not only developing yourself as a researcher, but leading to an extremely varied and rewarding role.

Traditionally, researchers here come from a strong qualitative background and many proposals have been created by investigating conflict groups, stakeholder comms testing and creative testing to frame issues. They believe in the power of evidence and integrate statistical techniques and analysis to back up their findings with hard numbers. Again, another chance to diversify your research experience with qualitative and quantitative techniques.

The founders are incredibly talented people and have done a lot of research directly with political parties, have founded two successful research agencies as well as growing these rapidly. They are extremely reputable within the industry. A brilliant place to work with fantastic benefits across holiday and pension contribution.

Financial services experience a bonus.
