Senior Research Executive – Public Affairs

Well respected market research agency seeks a Senior Research Executive to join their central Manchester office. The role is very wide ranging with a mix of social research and evaluation, as well as quant and qual methods and some advisory.

This team delivers research at a regional level for government bodies, public sector organisations and local government. Whilst you will be expected to work across all sectors, there will be an opportunity to align yourself to specific areas of interest be that methodological or sectorial. With unrivalled access to senior stakeholders across the civil service, government and the private sector our client's work informs policy, thought leadership, academic research and organisational strategy in the UK and internationally.

This is an interesting and varied role across both qualitative and quantitative from inception through to delivery, including managing fieldwork, analysis and reporting and presenting findings to clients. You will work direct with clients, be drafting questionnaires and discussion guides that meet objectives, be writing reports and presentations that deliver insights to meet the client's objectives. Day to day you will be a key point of contact for clients on project-related matters, taking a proactive approach to develop knowledge of the client’s business and effectively manage relationships with suppliers and internal operations colleagues to ensure the objectives of the research are met and on budget. At this level you will be helping write smaller proposals and contribute to more complex proposals and work towards helping build the business.

We require excellent qualitative and quantitative research skills and an ability to comfortably pick up projects and deliver day-to-day, superb organisational, project management and the ability to work to tight and demanding deadlines to deliver profitable work and assure quality of all outputs. Experience in writing questionnaires and discussion guides and proficiency in Excel, SPSS and/ or other analytical packages is essential. You will bring the ability to understand and interpret complex qualitative and quantitative data and excellent client handling and supplier negotiation skills.

Time management skills, working across multiple projects, prioritising tasks efficiently and demonstrable verbal and written communication skills are prerequisite. Ideally you will have knowledge in relevant areas of social research.
