Job Details

World class social policy research and evaluation practice seeks an Associate Director or Research Manager to support their wide ranging public engagement activity: public dialogue, deliberative research, Citizens’ Assemblies and Citizens’ Juries.

With a diverse and developing catalogue of work across health, data and science and in other areas too, including the environment (climate change) and Emerging Technology (AI, Autonomous Vehicles, genome editing), they have already been very successful in undertaking  public dialogues, many of which have been co-funded with support from the Sciencewise initiative, and have worked with a wide range of clients including Genomics England, Innovate UK and learned societies including the Academy of Medical Sciences, and the Royal Society.

They are now looking to capitalise on this success and continue with their expansion across the deliberative research space. This key hire could either be a hands on Research Manager keen to manage and deliver best in class engagement or an Associate also looking to be instrumental in raising the team’s profile and targeting new clients. Either way they are already inundated with requests and projects, much of which are directly channelled from their industry dominating social research and policy evaluation teams with whom they work in parallel, so all the ingredients are there to make this a very exciting, impactful time to join them.

With a strong academic background in social sciences, or a related area, you will have proven experience in this area including confident facilitation skills and wide-ranging experience of running stakeholder workshops, public workshops, juries, discussion groups. You will be dedicated to providing excellent stakeholder management throughout the process, from direct involvement in projects (recruiting for Advisory or Oversight scrutiny groups; stakeholder workshops to input into the research stimulus), to wider engagement during dissemination activities.

As part of a leading global research and insight firm, you will enjoy unparalleled support across the piece, including expert project managers, talented colleagues to collaborate with, ongoing investment in methodological innovation and your own professional development as well as a healthy regard given to the importance of a work/life balance, including family friendly and flexible working arrangements.
