Full Time

We are an international provider of evaluation, research, consulting, programme management and communications services. We work closely with governments and policymakers, the European Commission, NGOs and charities across the UK, Europe and internationally.  Our mission is to do work that makes a difference.  We help our clients make decisions, build capacity to implement and communicate change, and deliver bespoke services. Our teams of researchers, policy experts, programme managers and communications specialists help our clients to address today’s most important societal challenges. We are an employee-owned organisation that gives 1% of our profits to charity each year.  Our working culture promotes personal and career development and you will be part of a large international group with offices worldwide. Ecorys operates a flexible working policy. This role is available full time or part time and can be based in any of our offices.

About the role

Our expanding Policy and Research team are currently targeting emerging talent in the areas of UK and European Social Policy, and International Development, to join our reputable team of research specialists delivering impactful work across a variety of client contracts.

Our work ranges from supporting local client needs, through to large scale National, European and International monitoring and impact evaluations.

As a Research Assistant, you will develop and apply your range of quantitative and qualitative research skills including desk-based research, survey design and implementation, in-depth interviewing and qualitative and quantitative data analysis. You will also become familiar with  research analysis software such as NVivo, SPSS, Stata and/or R.

As you develop in the role, you will have the opportunity to grow your client facing and business development skills by contributing to work winning activities.  You may also be able to develop a specialisation into qualitative or quantitative methodologies. There is also the prospect for some national and international travel.

Over the last two years, our Research Assistants have been exposed to a broad range of projects,  such as work for the UK government to evaluate a range of education programmes; support to the European Commission on employment initiatives and an international monitoring and evaluation project looking at health and wellbeing.  As well as embedding technical learning and development, this has enabled and supported a progression path to Research Manager.

In 2020 we will continue to develop our succession pipeline through the intake of emerging research talent across all three of our UK offices. Following the success of this year, we will again be holding selection days for further recruitment in early 2020.

Your continued development is supported by career development planning, mentoring and regular reviews. We will also offer you 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, employee discounts and season ticket loans along with various other benefits.

We are keen for those interested to register for the next planned intake, which will begin in Spring 2020.
