All the most successful brands are built on a compelling big idea which resonates profoundly within the category, with people and with the culture.

Such simple and yet hugely influential ideas are rooted out by truly getting to know consumers – their lifestyles, conscious and unconscious behaviours, their cultural and social influences and their opinions and experiences.

This clever agency is all about uncovering ideas and they do this through research-led consultancy. It follows that the main tasks for this position are threefold:

1. Understanding consumers through qualitative research techniques such as groups, workshops, face to face interviews, online communities, projective techniques, ethnography, film and mobile diaries.

2. Building on these insights to brainstorm compelling ideas and narratives for clients to build their brands filtering into new product development, branding or communications campaigns.

3. Impeccable client servicing from client meetings, attending kick-off briefs, asking the right questions, building trusted rapport, ongoing contact through projects through to presentations

Overlaying all this will be a passion for cultural trends in evidence with you being in touch with societal movements and global themes.

As a Qual Client Director, you will form part of the senior leadership team working from pitch to final presentation. You will lead clients and work across categories – this is an agency that works with the top players in each field. You’ll mentor and manage a team. You’ll also get to work on the business, as well as in the business, developing thought leadership and further defining this agency’s winning strategy.

This is a well-established leader in consumer insights in Auckland. The team are fun, creative, don’t take themselves too seriously, work in open collaboration and take great pride in their client partnerships, ideas, outputs and reputation in the market.

If you have a senior background in qualitative research, insights or planning then please get in touch for all the details.
