Drinkaware is an independent alcohol education charity working with both the alcohol industry and public sector bodies to tackle and help reduce alcohol-related harm. Established over 10 years ago by Government and the UK alcohol industry, our main objective is to positively change public behaviour by helping people make better choices about their drinking.

The Director of Evidence and Impact will lead our research team with responsibility for ensuring that we take an evidence-based approach to our campaigns and initiatives, allowing impartial, robust evaluations to deliver practical learning to improve our effectiveness.  The work of the research team allows us to demonstrate our outcomes and impact to a range of internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that our social impact and contribution are evidenced effectively.  We will also look to you to contribute more broadly to the development and delivery of Drinkaware's strategy and to work collaboratively across the organisation as part of our Senior Leadership Team.

You will bring a proven track record of using research insights to change and improve outcomes for people and to help organisations in practical ways and to allocate resources effectively.  You will have experience of senior leadership of research planning and strategy, ideally within the charity sector and have a postgraduate qualification/PHD in a relevant discipline.  As a small, but influential charity with an income of circa £6 million, we are looking for someone with an SME mentality, able to be both strategic and hands on where necessary. You will be an inspiring leader, with experience of motivating and managing a team.  Above all, you will be a committed ambassador for Drinkaware, with a passion for helping us to achieve our vision of reducing alcohol-related harm by helping people make better choices about their drinking.
