GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS (GWR) is the global authority on record-breaking achievement. Our Category Management Team exist to govern a set of record categories (e.g. Sports, Science, Mass participation etc.) and to guarantee the consistency on how records are created and validated.

The team ensures that there us global uniformity in how records are operated. The team is also responsible for updating guidelines, cleansing data, detecting and correcting duplications and errors and much more.

The role

The Head of Category Management will look after a team of 5. They will be responsible for providing training, guidance and direction and monitoring their work for accuracy and completion and carrying out performance evaluations.  The Head of CMT will also perform some more complex and difficult tasks personally, such as handling sensitive records and decisions. They will manage resources and plan ahead to ensure that the team Is of the right size with the right skills to provide the service required.

This person with chair the Category Management meeting with all regional internal clients to keep them updated of any change, get their feedback and discuss any complex case. They also seek regular feedback from regional internal clients in order the check the quality of the support the CM team provides.

The Head of CMT is responsible for monitoring the adherence to global records standards and policies. Reviews and advises on all records deactivation and title changes ahead of the records leadership team being informed. They act in the capacity of project manager for IT development and represent the record teams. The also work closely with Global Marketing and Product management, to provide feedback on upcoming products from a CMT perspective and align processes and policies.

The person

Strong research background and skills is a must. Further, they must have experience of managing a team in a similar capacity. Educated to a degree level at a minimum but Masters level will be a bonus. Impeccable attention to detail and a natural analyst. Good communication and presentation skills and ability to work in an environment of changing needs and priorities.
