For 20 years The Youth Sport Trust (YST) has worked to improve the lives the young people through the power of sport. We create, develop and deliver programmes and initiatives that improve health, attendance, academic achievement and raise whole-school standards, equipping all young people with skills for life.

We are now establishing a new Research and Insight Hub which will be responsible for positioning the YST as the leading authority on youth sport, PE and physical activity. This is where your skills and experience are needed as Evaluation & Research Officer.

This will involve engaging with project delivery teams to ensure there are robust systems in place to evaluate projects. You will manage the delivery of high quality evaluations by undertaking both qualitative and quantitative research projects as well as compiling research briefs and overseeing the work of external research partners. You will also ensure results are effectively communicated to internal and external stakeholders. With strong project management skills and extensive experience of primary research techniques and methodologies, you are familiar with carrying out literature reviews and secondary data analysis. Used to undertaking evaluations you will have scoped, commissioned and managed evaluation and research projects. Comfortable sourcing data on the internet and in professional publications you will also be effective at presenting information in an accessible way that is appropriate to the audience. Knowledge of the principles of effective questionnaire design and research methodologies as well as an understanding of research ethics and data protection will be needed too.
