AURA (http://www.aura.org.uk/) is for client-side insight professionals who seek to raise their expertise and impact within their organisation. We are a unique insight sector community which offers members continuing personal development, inspiration and peer-to-peer support. AURA is steered on a voluntary basis by its Council, supported by paid specialists.
There are more than 800 AURA members representing almost 200 organisations, with AURA funded entirely by member subscriptions. All members receive the following:
- Access to five seminars a year in London (plus corresponding regional seminars in Manchester / Leeds)
- A website hosting a peer to peer networking platform, including a forum through which members can get feedback or advice from peers
- Annual conference, currently held at Olympia
- The AURAs, a peer nominated awards programme for members and agencies, presented at a dinner on the day of conference
- Special interest sub-groups, e.g. general insurance (GIMRA) and international insight
Scope of the role
This is a very exciting and varied role, where you will have responsibility for organising the themes and content for our highly regarded member seminars, and then ensuring these seminars run smoothly on the day. Ultimately you will be responsible for delivering high-class content to AURA members, and therefore inspiring them to do great work and deliver impact to their business. We envisage this as a part time, flexible role, where you can expect to work around 8 days a month in your own time. The successful applicant will be free to manage their own time; either committing hours each day or working on set days of the week.
We require support in maintaining the high quality of our seminars, shaping the seminar themes and freshening up the way they are run.
The successful applicant should:
- Revitalise our seminar offering, whilst maintaining the core reasons why our members love to attend
- Introduce new ways to bring great content to our members, which fits better with their busy schedules
- Maintain a successful annual conference and awards evening
We are looking for someone with:
- Excellent organisational skills. Key tasks include arranging the catalogue of seminars for the calendar year, and organising every aspect of these seminars; sourcing the speakers, checking and signing off the content, and running the show on the day
- Creative thinking. We would like to continue to develop new ways and ideas for our members to engage with us, and introduce these throughout the calendar year
For questions about this interesting and varied role, please contact Sarah Whiddett, Chair of AURA: SarahWhiddett@bidfood.co.uk
