Home Office Insight Executive (Information Officer)

Employer
The Home Office
Location
Croydon (London Borough), London (Greater)
Salary
£36,592 – £42,995
Closing date
17 Aug 2018

The Home Office deals with some of the most important issues facing the UK and the Insight Team is critical in helping to achieve its goals. The unit is responsible for bringing an approach based on evidence to communication planning and delivery across the department. It also provides a central hub for audience insight and strategic communication advice.

The team has a wide remit as it works across the full portfolio of the Home Office. Issues include violence against women and girls; drugs and alcohol; crime and disorder; and policing and immigration. This means that the workload is very varied and often entails working on pioneering projects to address the research and insight challenges such issues bring.

The role of the Insight team is to use evidence, research and analysis to underpin our strategic communication strategies (often behaviour change focused), to help achieve some of the Home Office’s biggest communication challenges. It covers all types of communications research including quantitative and qualitative research, web analytics, desk research, econometrics and obviously the full range of government statistics. We use these to build our audience understanding, develop and test hypotheses, and measure impact and results.

You will play a critical role within the team, working with an Insight Manager to provide communication insight and evaluation support to specific account areas as well as an ad hoc service to teams beyond communications.

This is a fascinating challenge with the opportunity to make a real difference across a variety of important issues.

The Home Office offers excellent career development prospects, competitive pension and benefits arrangements, and extensive professional support networks – exactly as you would expect from a large, progressive employer like the Civil Service.

We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity and inclusion at the Home Office. We are committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive workplace where all our people are able to bring their whole selves to work and perform at their best.
