About the role

Research Managers provide support to our Policy and Research team with delivery of projects in our core social and political thematic areas.  These are education and culture, children, young people and families, employment and labour markets, international development, ageing, crime and justice, health and wellbeing and sport.

As a Research Manager, you will provide support to the team’s Senior Research Managers and Directors but also have the autonomy to manage smaller projects.  You will work on evaluation projects by conducting, processing and analysing data through a variety of primary, secondary, qualitative and quantitative research methods.  Then, concluding this with the production of high quality written reports, presentations, articles, blog posts and other mediums.  In addition to the research aspects, you will contribute to proposals for prospective clients, targeted business development and actively research opportunities to advance the company's work.

About the ideal person

We are looking for someone who has an Undergraduate and Masters Degree (or equivalent) in a social science, social research, geography, international development, statistics, maths or economics, research methods and related subjects.  You will need to be an experienced researcher who demonstrate good knowledge and understanding of UK/EU policy and public policy institutions particularly in our core thematic areas.  Additionally, experience of conducting research or evaluation and reporting these results in a variety of writing and verbal styles.  As a busy role, we need you to demonstrate excellent organisational and administrative skills, the managing of tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. An excellent standard of written and spoken and English is essential, other language capabilities would be an advantage.

What we offer

Circa £26,000 - £29,000 per annum depending on experience with benefits including 25 days annual leave, a performance bonus and contributory company pension.
