Help us deliver engineering research that delivers real change.

Engineering is at the heart of our nation and our future: transforming ideas and materials into global infrastructure, products and services that increase the wealth and health of our economy and society. As the UK’s national academy for engineering, we bring together the discipline’s finest minds to promote excellence and champion innovation.

Co-ordinating our busy programme of research activities and providing project management support to our research and communications teams, you will ensure that assigned grant schemes are realised on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards. This will involve planning programme delivery, overseeing budgets, mitigating any risks and issues, and identifying experts for peer review panels, whilst evaluating outcomes and impacts. At the same time, you will manage relationships with government, steering groups, industry and beneficiaries, giving you an extremely high profile, and promote and market schemes via news articles, websites and social media.

We will look to you to maximise the impact of our new Grants Management System and assist the Head of Research in delivering a steady pipeline of evidence-based reports and recommendations, so you will require all the skills to hit the ground running. In particular, you should be familiar with the UK research ecosystem, well versed in project management best practice and adept at all aspects of administration, and you will bring a highly organised, methodical and analytical mindset. If you’re experienced in engineering or science, so much the better, and a background in social media or event management would be very useful, but most importantly you will bring real passion for quality and the drive and determination to make things happen.
